Learning principles

The philosophy of the school is that the education and development of SRS students is not to be confined to a narrow or limiting interpretation, but is to be holistic. Thus, the ethos and strategy of the school aims to facilitate development of the intellectual, physical, emotional, spiritual and creative needs of all students. The unequivocal and central aim of the school is to provide a quality education for all students, based on their individual needs, their age, aptitude and ability. As an Arabic/Islamic school, it is implicit that the curriculum is concerned with preserving the heritage of its culture, its language, its literature, history and especially its Islamic tradition. The school is committed to moulding a future Islamic generation who will be creative, independent thinkers, able to adapt their knowledge and skills to the changing needs of this technological age.

Student Support

Support for special learning needs

Yes

The school is proud of being an inclusive school and has a whole school approach to maximize the potential of all our students including those with learning difficulties. Through personalised Individual Education Plans (IEPs), support and targeted intervention programmes, the school aims to provide purposeful experiences for all the students in our care. Many of school's students have varying degrees of need and it is our Special Education Needs (SEN) team that work with the parents and staff to ensure we highlight a child’s difficulties early on and tailor their support to help them overcome any barriers to learning.

Support for gifted and talented students

Yes

The school believes that each student has individual and unique needs and SRS is committed to creating opportunities for all students to identify their strengths and for their abilities to flourish. SRS will provide additional support for children who are working at a significantly higher level than their peers both in school and through LWB.
